v0.5 - better gameplay & new maps
This is quite of a version jump for the game, given the fact that the last update was 17 days ago and its version is v0.2. Because in the last 17 days I've been cooking somethin' great for the game.
HP & SP systems
Those are the point system that the player has their own HP and SP (Health Points & Stamina Points). Each system will enhance your gameplay in various ways.
HP system
The HP system is simply the health of the player.
HP usage
Whenever your HP is less than or equal to 0 (it will indicate 0 on the health bar), your character will die and the die screen proceeds. At spawn you will be provided with 200 HP and max HP is 200.
Right now, the only 2 things that can deduct your damage are:
- Laser: - 200 HP
- Void: - 200 HP
SP system
The SP is the stamina points the player have to spare to unlock specific special abilities that will enhance your gameplay in various ways.
SP usage
Your SP will be 0 at spawn and after 3 seconds, it will generate 2 SP/second until full (200 SP). The list of special abilities are listed in the special abilities section.
After you use an ability, the SP will be deducted accordingly to your desired ability needs and there will be a 3-second delay before it will starts regenerating with the same rate of 2 SP/second.
Special abilities
In this new update, your player now have special abilities that will help you make your game easier. Here are the list of the special abilities that are in this version (v0.5), the style we written in is as follows:
<Ability name> - <What it does> (Amount of SP needed) [Keyboard press to activate]
- Ground Pound - Generate a massive force that pulls you downwards. (50 SP/use) [E]
- Sprint - Run 2 times faster. (10 SP/second) [Shift]
- Dash - Run with a really fast speed that ignores gravity in a short amount of time. (150 SP/use) [Double Shift]
- Climb - Essential for wall-climb levels*. (5 SP/second, 15 SP/jump)** [Self activated when colliding with climbable walls]
*only triggered in specific levels only.
**the climb ability consumes 5 SP/second when you're climbing and while you are climbing, you jump then it will consume 15 SP.
Note: will ONLY be triggered if your SP is equal or greater to the required SP for your desired ability. If you are attempting to use an ability without the required SP it will not trigger.
Powerups
Powerups are essential and will help you a lot throughout the game. They have a 50% chance of dropping into random positions of the map and throughout the gameplay, be sure to check the glow object. If you found a powerup it will add to your Powerup slots (check the powerup slots section).
There are currently 2 powerups in v0.5 (which is listed below). The style we written in as follows:
<Powerup name> - <What it does> (Duration) [Drop rate]
- Shield - immune from damages for an amount of time. (5 seconds) [80%]
- Rocket - Fly with a fast amount of speed. (30 seconds) [20%]
Powerup slots
Powerup slots are the 2 circles you can find in the top right corner of the game. You are allowed to carry a maximum of 2 powerups, and when the 2 slots are all occupied the next powerup you claim is not added into your slot.
To use the powerup simply press they key 1 or 2 which will use the power up in the upper slot or the slot below it. While you are using the powerup as long as the slot is not empty you can't loot another powerup.
Camera views
There are two camera views in this game:
- First person
- Third person
To trigger between those views, press the C key.
Music player
I am aware of the web version the music settings is still broken. But for the downloadable versions, it should work correctly.
